Learn how to raise sheep for fleece, discuss differences between fleece from various breeds, what makes a good quality fleece, and how to process it into wool. This class is for anyone who owns or is considering owning wool, alpaca, or mohair-producing livestock. Workshop held in partnership with Sierra Harvest.

August 29 at 9am to noon
Add some color to the dog days of summer with ice dyeing! This technique uses melting ice to create watercolor-like designs on fabrics and yarns. All materials included. $80/person (Fleece Club and FFG members $70)

September 26 at 9am to noon
Experience the magic of indigo, a plant dye used throughout the tropical and semi-tropical regions of the world for centuries. We will use some basic tie dye wraps to prepare a tshirt for dyeing. All materials included. $80/person (Fleece Club and FFG members $70)

Do you love wool prep? Or are you new to sheep life and don't know where to get started? We've got you! Learn the best way to get your dirty wool clean and ready to spin in this virtual workshop. Hosted by HGA Spinning and Weaving Week.

Want to try spinning yarn but not ready to invest in a wheel? In this 1-hour class you'll build your own drop spindle from scratch and start spinning on it. You can also try a standard modern wheel. No experience necessary. $40/person (Fleece Club members $20)

Learn to do your own fiber prep and expand your creative potential. We'll be talking about handling raw fleeces, color blending, adding texture, and more. You will have the opportunity to design and blend your own batt to take home for use in your next fiber project. No experience necessary, all materials provided. $50/person plus $10 materials fee.
